The purchase of renewable electricity has put us well on our way to meeting our goal of achieving 100% renewable electricity by 2025.

In fact, we reached this target ahead of schedule by transitioning 100% of our electricity supply to renewable sources.

Now, with Givaudan’s first off-site solar park, in Dhule, India, we are marking another major milestone in our initiative by accelerating our transition through an increase in the proportion of renewable energy in our power supply. The new state-of-the-art park, owned 8% by Givaudan, has a capacity of 4.0 MWp, which is equivalent to the power generated by around 7,330 solar panels, an output that can meet the energy needs of approximately 2,400 households.

Givaudan’s Taste & Wellbeing site in Pune, India, is the first site to receive energy from this solar park, further reducing its reliance on non-renewable energy sources. The solar park allowed Givaudan to achieve 100% renewable electricity by the end of 2024 for this Pune site.

The off-site solar park − inaugurated in April 2024 − was developed in collaboration with a partner specialising in providing end-to-end solar power solutions, including project development, financing, construction, and operations. Under this collaboration, an arrangement through which multiple companies come together to collectively own and operate a renewable energy project, the solar park will operate for 10 years initially, after which we will reevaluate the project.

With our commitment to renewable energy extending beyond onsite solar power, off-site solar power initiatives such as these allow us to rapidly approach our goal of 100% renewable electricity.
